About Us
With a goal to bring diverse stories to elementary school kids, Promised Protagonists builds on Dr. Rudine Sims Bishop's idea that books can be windows, mirrors, or sliding glass doors.
We're a completely youth-led organization with a focus on instilling a love for reading and writing in younger generations. We aim to bring our community together through stories—older generations can write stories they wish they had read as a kid, and younger generations can read them in interactive ways with their families. We are currently also partnering with the Chinese American Association of Lexington (CAAL).

You can also check out our resources page for great ways your children can connect with stories that can serve as a look into other people's lives, or be a reflection of their own. For example, related people and organizations we've worked with include Teachers & Writers Collaborative, Words Without Borders, and Harold Underdown.
Sincerely,
Katie Lin
